The one year to go until the Inaugural Baku 2015 European Games was celebrated during a Gala Dinner hosted by the Baku 2015 European Games Operation Committee (BEGOG) at the impressive Buta Palace in Baku. The EOC President, Patrick Hickey, in his speech to the assembled guests, marked this historic event for the European Olympic and Sports Movement.
It was presented also the new logo of the first European Games. The logo contains some subtle changes to ensure that it works better for broadcasting and marketing perspectives.
In order to promote the Games, the BEGOG Chief Operating Officer, Simon Glegg, wrote a letter (attached below) on how to use the Baku 2015 logo. (attached below)
The European Games will be a multi-sport event for athletes from all the National Olympic Committee in Europe and will be every four year. The Games are owned, co-organized and regulated by the European Olympic Committees (EOC).
The European Games 2015 will involve around 6000 competitors from 49 Olympic Nations of Europe across 19 sports.
For the archery, the competition will be held on 17-22 June 2015.
The competition format will be the same as in the Olympic Games: 64 men and 64 women competing in the Recurve Division, in Individual, Team and Mixed Team events.
The Continental Qualification Tournaments for the archers for the European Games will be held in Echmiadzin (ARM) during the European Outdoor Championships on 21-26 July 2014 and the second qualification will be held during the first leg of the Grand Prix on 24-28 March 2015 in Olympia (GRE).
